There is literally a pleathora or firms that offer to monitor your web site, a quick search on Google will reveal ,000s of results. What can/should you do?

The results that these firms provide is based on the assumption that their software never has any issues, their server is always operational (which is impossible if they do any maintenance or upgrading of their software and or hardware), that the network they use is always functional 100% of the time (again impossible) and that any ISP through which their data travels are always 100% functional (again impossible), the issues go on and on. Any of these issues will result in your site being unreachable which is not directly related to the uptime of the server.
